PC 21 - Interview with Christian Parker - Professor, Husband, Singer, Father of 5, BLIND

May 31st, 2018

This podcast will introduce you to Christian Parker, a very neat Christian guy. Many things make Christian special. First, he’s a full professor teaching U.S. History at Bakersfield College, second is he sings. He an Christina Scrivner were privileged to sing at the Tehachapi Breakfast for the National Day of Prayer on May 3rd. They will be repeating their performance this Sunday, June 3rd, at A City on a Hill Church that meets at 9:30am at the Slice of Life Building, 48771 West Valley Blvd here in Tehachapi. You, of course, are all welcome to come. You won’t be disappointed. What also make Christian special is that he’s totally blind and even for that has achieved some remarkable things. Probably the most remarkable, and I’m sure he’ll agree, is that he’s married to a beautiful, supportive woman, Jenny, and together they now have 5 kids. You won't want to miss this interview.

We’re going to talk to Joe Brown, the founder of the Christian Youth Film Society located in Bakersfield. On May 6th, at 10am at the Hitching Post Theater, we’re going to hold a Launch to this event that should take place in the August time frame.  I want you to give this interview a listen. You’ll see that this is about more than encouraging kids to make short movies. Also, when you get to the end of the interview we’re going to tell you how you can get a free ticket to Guardian of the Galaxy 2 or A Case For Christ, both of which are opening up here soon. So, if you’re a pastor, youth leader, work with youth, are a parent or grandparent, or if you just care about bring our youth to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, here comes the interview you need to take to heart. Podcast 18 - Pastor Brent Whitney (Country Oaks Bapt Church) & Pastor Steve Car (Wives)

January 14th, 2017

Welcome to our 18th podcast of the Tehachapi Christian. This one is for January 14, 2017 and is presented with my best wishes for a blessed new year. We have Pastor Brent Whitney of Country Oaks Baptist Church with us today and you’re going to enjoy this interview. I love to see God at work in people’s lives, and He worked a lot in Pastor Brent’s. At the end of last year we hear Pastor Steve Carr of Calvary Arroyo Grande tell us about the husband’s responsibility in marriage, this year we’re going to start with his teachings on The Wife’s Responsibilities.  Husbands and wives will both want to gather up their Bibles, some paper and pencil for notes, and listen to part 1 of this four part series. Email us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com or comment on our Facebook Page after you give us a "Like."

Podcast 17 - Supervisor Zack Scrivner and Pastor Steve Carr (P4 Husbands)

December 2nd, 2016

Hi, this is Bill Kritlow and Welcome to our 17th Podcast. This one is for December 2nd, 2016. We have an important show for you today. We’re going to interview Zack Scrivner, our county supervisor for the 2nd Kern County District, the district in which Tehachapi resides. As I knew I would, I found Zack to be personable, knowledgeable, conservative, and a committed  Christian. Hearing what he has to say about some of the key issues facing all of us not only in the county but the state is a must. Then we’ll have the 4th and final segment in Pastor Steve Carr’s teaching on the responsibility of the husband. It’s very neat to have to with us on this journey. If you have questions, comments or concerns please email us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com or comment on our Facebook page.

Podcast 16 - Heather Simmons and The Real Thanksgiving Story

November 23rd, 2016

Welcome you to our 16th podcast. This one is for November 23rd, 2016, the day before thanksgiving. We think we have a special show for you today. First we’re going to hear from Heather Simmons. Heather is very special to me. We’ve known each other for a number of years now and she’s never ceased to impress me. Heather is about to be 23 years old and is 6 months from graduating from Cal State Bakersfield. That in itself is an achievement, but what makes it doubly so is that Heather is legally blind and has Albinism, so she looks a little different, although I find her beautiful. Even though she’s been hampered by both of these issues, as you’ll hear in the interview, she, with God’s mercy and grace, has achieved more than most normal folk, and this interview tells you how. Then, in honor of the season, take a look at the first thanksgiving and we’ll do it in a way that includes some information you may not have heard before. If you have comments, concerns, or suggestions, please email us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com or comment on our Facebook page.

Podcast 15 - Shannon Loftus and Pastor Steve Carr (Husbands 3)

November 15th, 2016

Welcome to our 15th Podcast of the tehachapi Christian for November 16th, 2016. Today’s podcast is very special. We have an interview with Shannon Loftus. What drew me to want to interview Shannon was that she is a Christian Archeologist, as rarity in that scientific sphere, and I wanted you to hear about that. But this interview took a very different turn. Shannon is also a Christian who suffers from three ailments from which you and I definitely want to stay away. Multiple Sclerosis, Spinal Stenosis, and fiber myalgia, any one of which could be crippling, but all three together are a physical nightmare. And yet, as you listen to this interview, you're going to wish you had her attitude about life and particularly her relationship with Christ. Then we’re going to hear the 3rd part of Pastor Steve Carr’s teaching on the responsibility of the husband in marriage. Guys, you need to hear this. If you have questions, comments, or concerns email us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com or comment on our Facebook page of the same name. God bless and enjoy the podcast.

Podcast 14 - Pastor Slifer and Pastor Carr

November 4th, 2016

Welcome to our 14th podcast. This one is for Nov 2nd 2016. I really enjoyed putting this one together. It gave me a chance to interview Pastor Marvin Slifer of Mountain Bible Church. Pastor Marvin has been an important part of the Tehachapi Christian Community for over 45 years as pastor at Mountain Bible, and is still going strong. You’re going to like this interview. He’s a very neat guy who’s has a blessed career loving and preaching the word of God. Then we’re going to hear the last part of Pastor Steve Carr’s lesson and the responsibilities of the husband. You guys out there need to hear this. In our hands rests the well-being of our families.

Podcast 13 - Jim Pendleton (Christian Store) and Steve Carr (Husbands)

October 26th, 2016

Welcome to our 13th podcast for October 26th, 2016 and it’s a good one. First we’re going to hear from Jim Pendleton. Jim is the new owner of the Christian Store near Green Street on Tehachapi Boulevard. You’re going to like this interview. Jim’s pretty much a down home guy who definitely loves the Lord and his daughter, Kennedy. He raises Kennedy, who’s now 16 and being home schooled via Valley Oaks Charter School, as a single parent. “I want to be the kind of man that I want my daughter to marry,” Jim tells me, and I believe him. Give this interview a listen, then drop by the story and get to know him even better. Next we’re going to hear from Pastor Steve Carr again - the responsibility of the husband. If you have questions, comments, or concerns or have a ministry or business you want to promote email us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com or comment on our Facebook Page.

Podcast 12 - Student Seth Podratz and Part 2 of Steve Carr

October 22nd, 2016

Welcome to our podcast of The Tehachapi Christian for October 22nd, 2016, our 12th. I think this is a very neat episode. First we’ll hear from Seth Podratz. Seth is a 17-year-old senior at Heritage Oaks Christian School. I’ve asked Seth, with his parent’s permission, to talk to us today because I just wanted to hear what a 17-year-old Christian kid was thinking about various things. You’ll want to hear this. It will give you hope for this generation and the generation they will parent. Next we’ll hear the last half of Pastor Steve Carr’s teaching on The Virtues of a Christian Home. As with his other teachings, you won’t want to miss this. A Christian Home is what all parents strive to provide their kids, and themselves, and Pastor Carr tells us how to achieve it. Contact us at thetehachapichristian@gmail.com and by commenting on our Facebook page of the same name. Let us know if you have a business or ministry you want mentioned or is you have questions, comments or concerns. We truly want to hear from you.
